A worry

Fierce Planet Posted on May 15, 2017 by jnfrMay 15, 2017

I’m afraid this story: Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian diplomats …is taking attention away from this story: NATO Frantically Tries to Trump-Proof President’s First Visit A ‘freaked-out’ NATO braces for Donald Trump’s first meeting of the transatlantic alliance. Because that second story deserves some attention too. And can only be worse now.

Shameful

Fierce Planet Posted on August 19, 2013 by jnfrAugust 19, 2013

The amount this saves is miniscule, as you can see in the graphic below. But these small amounts make a lot of difference in the lives and the nutrition of the families who need them. I know, because my mother raised us on welfare (AFDC it was, back … Continue reading →

Who gets a mandate?

Fierce Planet Posted on November 12, 2012 by jnfrNovember 12, 2012

My friend, Peter Meuleners, pulled this info together. Posted here with permission. I think his point is clear. “I think the real story here is that Obama won, but he’s got no mandate.” – Charles Krauthammer, 2012 “And now that he’s been elected with a large majority, or a significant majority, and with a mandate, I think part of that mandate is to get the right judges, by his likes.” – Charles Krauthammer, 2004 “I earned capital in this campaign, political capital, and now I intend to spend it.” – George W. Bush, 2004 “When you win, there is … … Continue reading →
