Mid-term elections are upon us
We have less than a month now until Election Day. I hope you’ve already checked your registration and made a plan to vote. Because this year once again, the MAGA Republicans are going to lose, and we can make those losses spread. There are good signs that a big blue wave is about to crest, but this will only happen if you vote, if you get everyone you know to vote, if we all turn out on or before Election Day.
I don’t have to tell you how important these mid-terms are. We know how hard this administration will work to keep power when they lose. But the immediate danger is that they are trying to stop us from voting at all. So vote!
Know your local election rules and follow them. Don’t trust the post office if you can help it. If your state sends ballots ahead of time, drop yours in a local drop box or at your election office. If you must use the mail, send your ballot early, or try to get it postmarked at the Post Office counter.
Post Office and Election Officials Urge Voters to Mail Ballots Before Deadlines — Officials say dropping off ballots early is the best way to avoid rejection due to delays in delivery.
If you need to vote in person, make sure you know where to vote. Some people out there are going to lie to you, spread misinformation, lead you astray. Be smarter than they are, and be prepared. If your state offers early voting, use it! Bank your vote and know you’ve done your part.
Check with your friends, your family, your neighbors, and check that they are voting too! This web site, I Will Vote, lets you check their voting information as well as your own.
If there are problems at your polling place, contact the Election Protection Hotline! Their phone number is 866-687-8683 for voice or text. They are in touch with more than 300 state and local organizations, and provide information in multiple languages. Know your rights, and make sure your vote is counted fairly!
Here’s some encouragement for you from the cast of Hamilton. They are always fun to hang out with and they have more to say on their web site, When We All Vote.

The fight won’t stop after this election. We all know that. We saw what they did when they lost in 2020. But for now our focus must be on voting, on turning out every vote, and getting these elections won. There will be time after that to fight the next battles.
