Caucus Training
I went to a caucus training last night, held by the JeffCo Dems. The Colorado caucuses will be held on Feb. 5th, and this was to prepare new people for the paperwork and organization of the caucuses. We had to do math! I am glad I had my Palm Pilot with me.
The meeting room was packed, must have been 150 people there – I couldn’t quite tell as there were standees all the way out the door. I was kind of on the youngish side of the crowd, which surprised me, as I am not youngish at all (54). The regulars were quite pleased to have such a full house. I think the Democrats in Colorado aren’t used to being such a majority yet, and of course it’s growing. Everyone’s excited about the Convention which will be in Denver later this year.
The funniest moment was when we were talking about the resolutions to consider for the party platform, and the chairlady was using the example of impeaching George Bush, and when she was explaining how to do the vote, of course, as soon as she said “Do you want to impeach George Bush?” the whole room shouted “Yes!”.
It was nice to be among my people.
