Well I’m cranky cause the feed for the science panel is not working and I wanted to see that panel. AAR has the feeds mixed just as they did last night, and are also only showing two of the three panels. Grrr…
Some of the panels, and the lunch address, will be show on C-Span3. Try the link if you don’t get that channel locally.
More later. They better have things working for the CIA Leak panel.
UPDATE: The science panel is showing now on the Room 3 feed, but it keeps breaking up and the video is bad.
UPDATE: C-SPAN has moved the Plame panel to C-SPAN 2. And will be covering Barbara Boxer at lunch, then the metaKos panel in the afternoon.
Streaming YearlyKos
If you’re like me, and can’t be at the YearlyKos gathering this weekend, you can view the entire weekend on streaming video via Air America Radio for only $10.00.
Right now I’m watching Sam Seder who is broadcasting his show live from Las Vegas. Lots of fun — join in!
UPDATE: So I am hanging out waiting for the keynote speeches to start, and I have to say it’s REALLY ANNOYING that there’s not even an approximate start time given on the Air America Yearly KOS page. That is all.
UPDATE:
Well it’s not much of a picture, but I’ve got something coming in anyway:

Gah. And now we’re back to “not on the air”. Or a logo. Or a blue screen. Or a logo again …
UPDATE UPDATE: So it streams fine from the AAR home page, but not from the room slot on the schedule page. Near as I can tell they’re streaming on the wrong room channel, but whatever. Check the front page link to YearlyKos to view.
In Memorium

Memorial Day 2006. We will not forget.
UPDATE: Best Memorial Day post of the year, Pachacutec over at Firedoglake.
I know I
No comment
I’m not ready to make nice

I’m not ready to back down.
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go
round and round and round.
It’s too late to make it right.
I probably wouldn’t if I could.
Cause I’m mad as hell,
I can’t bring myself
to do what it is you think I should.

I made my bed and I sleep like a baby,
with no regrets. And I don’t mind saying
it’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
daughter that she oughta hate a perfect stranger.
This song by the Dixie Chicks sure comes at just the right moment for me. You should see the music video; it’s available via bittorent. And (h/t Atrios), you can see them perform the song on Letterman over at YouTube.
UPDATE: Crooks and Liars has a downloadable version of the Letterman appearance.
UPDATE: The Dixie Chicks appeared on 60 Minutes on May 14, in an interview with Steve Kroft. The story at the link has some video clips as well, talking about “the comment” and what’s happened since.
Keep the Internet equal for all
Learn about Net Neutrality. This is important for everyone, no matter your political leanings.
If Net Neutrality is gutted, Google, eBay, and YouTube either pay protection money to companies like AT&T or risk that their sites process slowly on your computer. Comcast could intentionally slow access to iTunes, steering Internet customers its own music service. And the little guy with the next big idea would be muscled out of the marketplace, relegated to the “slow lane” of the information superhighway.
This isn’t just speculation — it’s already happened in places without Net Neutrality. Heck, AT&T’s CEO blatantly announced, “The Internet can’t be free.”
That’s why an Internet revolt has begun… Folks as diverse as Craig from Craigslist, MoveOn, Gun Owners of America, Google, eBay, and Amazon are all fighting back. 350,000 people signed a petition demanding Congress preserve Internet freedom, over 2,000 blogs have rallied the public, and even some celebrities are chiming in.
Craig Fields from Gun Owners of America hit the target right-on when he said
“Whenever you see people on the far left and far right joining together about something Congress is getting ready to do, it’s been my experience that what Congress is getting ready to do is basically un-American.”
Happy Codpiece Anniversary!
Tony Snow: Beats Workin’
It’s true enough that the jokes about Tony Snow are just gonna write themselves. Good times ahead, I’m sure.
But the best thing I learned today is that Tony Snow is in a rock band, named Beats Workin’. This guy must be a hoot in real life.
What do you get when you combine four lawyers, a realtor, a business executive, and a radio and TV political commentator, some oldies, a dance-crazy crowd, and a whole lot of fun? We’re not sure, but we know it…
….Beats Workin’
Think Bush’s tax cuts helped you?

Then you must be very well off.
UPDATE: A friend points out to me that half of U.S. families fall into that $50k and under segment.
UPDATE:
In 2002:
Well down
SAT A.M. Update: Even though the status page doesn’t say so, picospan is back up. Engaged is not working yet. Afternoon last update: And Engaged is up now as well. Thus ends the Great Well Outage of 2006.

In case anyone wanders by looking for info, yes The Well is down. I am getting through to the home page intermittently, and it has this message:
System Down
We are experiencing major problems, and all systems are down. We do not yet know when we’ll be able to bring any systems up.
If you’re desperate for a place to post, you’re welcome to use the forums at World Turning. Heaven knows they’re empy enough.
UPDATE: Gail posted this over at Table Talk:
We had a big system malfunction that took out all of the well.com services last night. Our team’s working on it, but so far we don’t have an estimated time for restoring functionality.
So, nothing new, but wolfy is working on it.
UPDATE: System status is being updated on this Salon page. The latest update says:
Fri Apr 14 15:11:09 2006 Update: We expect to have well.com email back by approximately 7:00 pm Pacific Time (19:00:00) this evening. We expect to have PicoSpan access to conferences back by 10:00 pm. Web services are expected to be restored sometimes tomorrow. The cause of the outage was pinpointed as a malfunction produced by preparations for an upgrade.
More Update: A few folks are posting over in well.general, the old usenet group. Others are chatting on flickr.
