Palin Shops

Fierce Planet Posted on October 23, 2008 by jnfrOctober 23, 2008

In all the stories of Palin’s extensive, expensive wardrobe (“I can see Neiman-Marcus from my house!” as a friend of mine said.), the picture below is what I loved most. Look closely now. Maybe the Dems will have a blow-out after all.

On the Ground in Colorado

Fierce Planet Posted on October 18, 2008 by jnfrOctober 18, 2008

I know I haven’t been posting much, but we’ve been busy. Here’s my take on Obama’s ground campaign in our neighborhood in Colorado (northwest Jefferson County). My husband and I were out canvassing again today, as we’ve been doing on Saturdays for several weeks now. It’s been very interesting watching the campaign evolve in our neighborhood (swing district in a high-target county in a swing state). Many Colorado offices had been open for months now, while our area had one guy working out of his car. Then the campaign sent an intern, then they opened an office

Time to Walk Away

Fierce Planet Posted on September 25, 2008 by jnfrSeptember 25, 2008

I’m with John Cole, especially after watching the impromptu interview with Barney Frank, having come out of the negotiations with a shiv in his back, after McCain and some other Republicans dropped a bomb. The Dems need to step back entirely. It is not their job to make the Republicans accept Bush’s plan. This is a set up, a trap, a poison pill, and it’s time to let the Republicans fight this out among themselves. Walk away. Now.

Surprise!!

Fierce Planet Posted on September 24, 2008 by jnfrSeptember 24, 2008

Suddenly, McCain wants to show up for some work in the Senate? How unusual for him, since he’s missed more votes than any other Senator, including Tim Johnson who was ill with a brain hemorrhage. Update: Hmm, looks like Harry Reid doesn’t think McCain’s presence would be helpful.

Polling Places

Fierce Planet Posted on September 8, 2008 by jnfrSeptember 8, 2008

This is a list of the polling web sites I’ve been visiting. I don’t pay a lot of attention to the national polls. The state-by-state numbers matter more.

Jack Cafferty of CNN

Fierce Planet Posted on August 20, 2008 by jnfrAugust 20, 2008

Speaks for me, too. After a careful description of McCain’s many failings as a candidate and a human being, he ends his commentary with this. I am sick and tired of the president of the United States embarrassing me. The world we live in is too complex to entrust it to someone else whose idea of intellectual curiosity and grasp of foreign policy issues is to tell us he can look into Vladimir Putin’s eyes and see into his soul. George Bush’s record as a student, military man, businessman and leader of the free world is one of constant failure. … Continue reading →
